Theodore Gaillard Pinckney III, 15, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 11, 2017. Tripp was born on June 11, 2002 in Beaufort, SC and truly was a "Son of Our City". He was the adored son of Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, Jr. and Susan Eagle Pinckney. Tripp attended St. James High School in Montgomery, AL where he was a freshman and a member of the Cross Country Team. He was an excellent student and took joy in making others laugh. In school, he excelled in Math and Science. For the past 3 summers, he attended the University of SC Master Scholars Program where he studied law, business entrepreneurship, physics, and forensics. Tripp loved all things water sports including kayaking, swimming, and boating. He absolutely loved to be out on the water and exploring nature. Some of his other hobbies included monitoring American and world politics, studying the stock market and researching classic cars, especially Corvettes. He was a true American patriot who dreamed of pursuing a career in South Carolina politics. Tripp was an enthusiastic fan of the Star Wars series and was in great anticipation of the latest film. He had a special love in his heart for animals, especially his two dogs, Maxwell and Laia. He was also an avid Georgia Tech fan and regularly attended games supporting his Yellow Jackets. Tripp was a devoted acolyte at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Marietta, GA. One of Tripp's greatest joys was serving Holy Communion at Sunrise Senior Living Community in Marietta, GA. After recently moving to Montgomery, he attended confirmation and youth group classes at Christchurch Anglican. (A candlelight vigil was held in his honor there on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.) Tripp's strong and devout faith in God was apparent to everyone who knew him. Surviving in addition to his parents are his maternal grandmother, Rebecca K. Eagle of Columbia, SC, maternal great aunts and uncle, Donald Koon and Ruth Koon and Rhoda K. LaRoque, all of Charleston, SC. Surviving cousins are Lauren (Matt) Reynolds of Raleigh, NC, Matt (Alicia) Skinner of Fredericksburg, VA, along with many second cousins. Tripp was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Fredrick Eagle, Jr. and paternal grandparents, Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, Sr. and Winnifred Caldwell Pinckney, his great aunts, Gladys Hay Pinckney and Chloe Martin Pinckney, and aunt Patricia Gail Pinckney. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort, SC. To honor Tripp's memory, please wear blue to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parish Church of St. Helena, St. Peter & St. Paul Church in Marietta, GA or Saint James School in Montgomery, AL.
