MSG Tony R. Arnold, Army (Retired), passed away on Wednesday August 7th, 2024, suddenly, after a hard fight against cancer.
Tony was born on October 11, 1949, in Fresno, CA. He is the son of the late Randall M. Arnold and Mable L. (Thompson) Arnold. Tony proudly served his country for over 25 years, and was awarded many medals during his service to include: 2 Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, and 2 Meritorious Service Metals.
He was affectionately known as "the general" around Beaufort, where he took daily morning walks. Almost, always with dog biscuits in his pockets, his Army jacket, and his favorite Combat Engineer hat. He said "Hi" or "Good Morning" to everyone he passed, and the dogs would come running to him. He knew just about every server that served breakfast, and loved the waterfront park. Even though he was not born in Beaufort, he loved living there. He was tough, kind, and had the best sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna Arnold; his brother Stanley M Arnold; his sisters Iva (Arnold) Kavlick and R Sue (Arnold) Gordon.
He is survived by his sister Lorett (Arnold) Hayes (Randy); his children Cheryl Arnold (Chad), Randall Arnold (Josephine), Michelle Maldonado (Brandon), and Jessica Noble (Jon); his grandchildren Tyler, Blaine, Braeden, Maddie, Brinlee, Blake, Gavin, Noah, Hazel, and Liam.
He will be laid to rest at Beaufort National Cemetery, with full military honors, in a private family funeral.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project, or the American Cancer Society.
