Steve Adam Harmon, Age 67, of Yemassee, SC died peacefully at his home on October 18, 2021.\nSteve was born July 28, 1954 in Clinton, SC to the late Laurie Harmon and Helen Harmon Spires. He began his career for the late Henry Chambers at Burton Block in Beaufort, SC. Once the asphalt paving division was purchased by Russell L. Jeter, Steve enjoyed the next 20 plus years with Jeter Construction Company. He retired from Lane Construction Company in July 2017. Throughout his 40 plus years, he touched and mentored many people that became his lifelong friends. Steve's labor of love was Harmon's Lawn Service which was started in 1993.\nSteve was a devout member of the Yemassee Baptist Church where he served in multiple capacities including many years on the Deacon Board. He cherished his years teaching the Royal Ambassadors and providing transportation for children to attend church. He was an avid Carolina Gamecock Football season ticket holder since 1974 and also followed the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was devoted to his family and especially his grandchildren. Steve's job as PaPa was the one thing that he cherished the most.\nSteve is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynn Harmon of 50 years on October 28, 2021; a sister, Sandra Strong (William) of Neeses, SC; sons, Michael Harmon (Tammy) of Bluffton, SC and Greg Harmon (Erin) of Davidson, NC; a daughter, Melissa Lowther (Dow) of Bluffton, SC. Seven grandchildren; Shannon Weingart, Michael Harmon Jr., Michaela Harmon, Sarah Harmon, John Harmon, Jacob Lowther and Luke Lowther.\nA funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, October 22, 2021 at Yemassee Baptist Church, Yemassee, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 until the hour of the service. Burial will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Anderson Funeral Home.\nIn lieu of flowers, all memorials may be made to the Yemassee Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 68 Yemassee, SC 29945.
