Saxby "Jack" Stowe Chaplin, Jr Obituary (1925

SAXBY STOWE CHAPLIN, JR. Saxby Stowe (Jack) Chaplin, Jr., 84, of Saint Helena Island, SC, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Saxby attended Beaufort schools before enlisting in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He also served in the SC National Guard. Son of the late Saxby Stowe and Marguerite Vaigneur Chaplin, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally McTeer Chaplin, three sons, Saxby (Johnny) III, his wife Annette, and their son Saxby, IV; James McTeer (Jimmy) his wife, Jamie and their children, Mac and Sally, her husband, Justin, their children, Clayton and Addsyon; Gerald Jay, his wife Debbie, and son, Gerald Jay, Jr., and several step-grand and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Michael, his brother William and his sister Marguerite Ramos. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Hejduk; brothers Robert and his wife Martha and Charles and his wife Ann. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 2 PM at St. Helena New Episcopal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Parish Church of Saint Helena, P.O. Box 1043, Beaufort, S.C. 29901. Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
