Capt Robert Hart Fontenot, USMC, Retired, a compassionate and courageous man, passed away on June 15, 2023. Born on February 25, 1933, in Mamou, Louisiana, Robert was a loving and thoughtful individual who touched the hearts of those who knew him.\n\nRobert resided in Beaufort, South Carolina, and was widowed at the time of his passing. Throughout his life, he demonstrated an unwavering devotion to his family, putting them at the center of his world. Robert was a dedicated worker, retiring from his career in aircraft maintenance with the US Government. His commitment to his profession was a testament to his strong work ethic, which he passed on to his children.\n\nRobert is survived by his children, David Fontenot, Marilyn Adams, Mark Fontenot, Raymond Fontenot, and Paul Fontenot. He is preceded in death by his father, Renise Fontenot; mother, Oneida Fontenot; and beloved wife, Gail Fontenot. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we celebrate the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.\n\nFamily and friends are encouraged to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page, as we honor and remember Robert Fontenot's life.\n\nThe family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:30 am. at St. Peter's Catholic Church followed by burial in the Beaufort National Cemetery.
