Beaufort, SC- MGYSGT Richard R. Morales, USMC, Retired, 76, passed away on June 24, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Morales of Pueblo CO, is survived by his wife, Clara Santos Morales, and his three sons Dale (Janice), Donald (Stephanie) and David (Barbara). He was preceded in death by his mother and father Richard and Francis Morales, three brothers Robert, Ronald and Randy Morales, two daughters Diana Morales Boyer and Doreen Morales. He leaves behind ten grandchildren; his brother, Ross Morales, sister-in-law Rita Morales, Maryann Novak, Debra Apodaca, Karen Vasquez and Son-in-law, Jim Boyer all of Pueblo Co. Kerrie Santos, Frankie Santos children of the late Frank - Champ - Santos, of San Jose, California. Richard served his country and he retired as a combat veteran with 3 tours of duty in Vietnam after 30 years at the highest enlisted rank. Richard was a devoted husband to his wife Clara for more than 55 years and her main caregiver for the past several years. Richard was a loving father and grandfather and was loved by many nieces and nephews. He was a generous man who was loved and respected in his community. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Anderson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM in St. Peter's Catholic Church where he is a member, with interment at 12 noon in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.
