Richard Miller, 75, of Port Royal, died peacefully on August 30, 2023, surrounded by his wife and daughter. Born on March 2, 1948, in Harrisburg, PA, he was predeceased by his parents, Dr. William Kane Miller and Janet Miller Umbenhauer.\n\nHe is survived by his wife, Donna Walls Miller; daughter, Kimberlee Miller Neel, husband Bruce, and beloved grandson, Kendall Wilson Neel; son Bradford MacFarlane Miller; and sister, Greer Broadwater, husband Tom; and various inlaws, nieces, and nephews. Richard was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam with a Naval Achievement Medal with Combat V, three Purple Hearts, a Presidential unit citation, a National Defense Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of Amvets and Port Royal Lodge AFM 242. \n\nRichard was the most loving and beautiful man inside and out. He was also the hardest-working individual you would ever know. His joy was working on government contracts at Parris Island and Naval Air Force Station, but his biggest joy was being at home with Donna and devoted Springer spaniel Gert, working in his yard and with his camellias he called his "girls" and watching his grandson, Kendall grow into a fine young man.\n\nA memorial service with USMC military honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Friends of Caroline Hospice.\n\nAnderson Funeral Home is serving the family.
