Richard (Dick) Wayne Boehm, of Callawassie Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully, on November 19th, 2014, with his devoted and loving wife, Susie, by his side. They say for everything there is a season, a time and a purpose. This is Dick's season, to live a new life dancing with angels, taking long walks on the beach with his beloved yellow lab "Sugar", riding with the top down in his favorite Thunderbird, watching sunsets, rainbows and enjoying peace in the heavens. During the last years of his life, Dick kept the twinkle in his eye that lifted the spirits of everyone around him. In addition to his wife, Susie, Dick is survived by his sister, Barbara (Bill) Ager, Dexter, MI. and brother-in laws, John(Barb) Burgdorfer ,Wilton, CT and Jamie(Katherine)Burgdorfer Chicago, IL. and six nieces and nephews. Dick graduated from Creston High School in Grand Rapids, MI and served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1962 and was stationed in Tacoma, WA and South Korea. On September 12, 1966, Dick married the love of his life, Susie Burgdorfer, at Grace Episcopal Church in East Grand Rapids Michigan. He attended Grand Valley State University and was a member of the first graduating class in 1967 . He then went on to work in Labor Relations at Continental Can Company for over 25 years. His work involved working in several different cities, including Chicago, Cincinnati, and Baltimore which allowed Dick and Susie to develop many, long lasting friendships. They were passionate about each other and their pets. He loved to dance and enjoyed dancing to all kinds of music. He always had a smile on his face when his favorite song was on. Dick was an avid golfer and along with his wife Susie, he loved to restore and show classic Thunderbirds. As members of the International Thunderbird Club, Dick and Susie were able to travel all over the United States and share their passion with their favorite friends. Dick was truly a kind, and gentle man. He is loved by his family and friends and he will be missed forever.
