Priscilla Trask

–

Beaufort, South Carolina

Priscilla Adele Aimar Trask passed away at her home on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. A ninth generation Beaufortonian, she was born December 28, 1950 to Sarah Jeanne Sams and Charles Schley Aimar.

Priscilla enjoyed a life steeped in Lowcountry tradition, filled with family and friends. Growing up she loved surfing at Hunting Island, boating in the Beaufort River, and dancing at Bailey’s to the Melody Makers. She was in the first graduating class of Beaufort Academy. Priscilla was a master gardener and a gifted floral designer who shared her talents selflessly with her community and church. She was past president and a lifetime member of the Sea Island Garden Club, beginning in 1988. Priscilla had an affinity for teaching the younger generation the “proper way” to garden, smock, sew, arrange flowers, and cook.

In addition to her dedication to the Garden Club, Priscilla served in many volunteer roles with Beaufort Academy, the Open Land Trust, and the Historic Beaufort Foundation. She cherished her role on the Altar Guild at the Parish Church of St. Helena, but most of all, she loved her role as a grandmother.

Priscilla is predeceased by her husband of 37 years, William Davis Trask. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Trask Burrus (Edward Perry Burrus, MD) and her son William Davis Trask, Jr. (Zoe LeCain Trask), five grandchildren Edward Perry Burrus, IV (Adrienne Penny), Patrick Rodgers Burrus (Kortney Bry), Amelia Ann Burrus, James Yale Burrus, and William Davis Trask, III, two great grandchildren Bailyn Grace Burrus and Lucy Ann Burrus, and four siblings Jeanne Aimar Rogers (John, d.), Pamela Aimar Kinsey, Amelie Aimar Cromer (Philip), and Charles Schley Aimar, Jr. (Virginia) and many nieces and nephews.

The service will be held at the Parish Church of St. Helena Thursday, September 24 at 10 am with burial in the churchyard. A reception will be held following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Preservation Trust for St. Helena’s Church, Inc. (PO Box 2594, Beaufort 29902) or Beaufort Academy (240 Sams Pt Rd, Beaufort 29907).
