Patricia Ann Fleming Washburn was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on 11 December 1953 and departed to be with the Lord on 15 December 2018. Her parents were Claude David Fleming and Patricia Ann Fleming, both of whom are deceased. Patty spent two years in Germany in her youth where her father was stationed while serving in the US Air Force. Upon her father's retirement the family lived in Whitesboro, Texas and is where Patty attended grade school and high school. Patty subsequently lived in Sherman, Texas and Austin Texas and then relocating to the Hilton Head and Okatie, South Carolina region in 1988 with her husband and two sons.\n \nPatty is survived by her husband of 36 years, Floyd Washburn, two sons, Jesse Fleming of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and David Andy Fleming of New York, New York, two step-daughters, Laura Washburn Rodriguez of Cross Roads, Texas and Melisa Washburn Elieson of Keller, Texas, a sister, Ronda Jane Fridinger of Buford. Georgia, and a brother, Claude Fleming of Whitesboro, Texas. Patty has one grandchild, Lydia Dawn Fleming of Hilton Head Island, who is celebrating her 1st birthday on 17 December. Patty additionally has three step-grandchildren, Kristofer, Nickolette, and Joshua Elieson of Keller, Texas\n \nPatty has worked as a model, a boat captain, and began and owned a boat maintenance company. More importantly she has been the devoted wife of her husband and mother of her children.\n \nPatty loved flowers, animals, and being in nature. She lived her whole life with the inherited condition of Celiac Sprue. She was passionate about a healthy diet and proper vitamins. She has developed many recipes over the years. (You should have tasted her "Gluten Free" spinach lasagna). She coordinated the children's snack ministry at Community Bible Church for many years. She on one occasion taught a women's Adult Fellowship on Biblical Foods and Nutrition. \n \nPatty enjoyed being a boat captain and gave a love of the ocean to her two sons. She owned and operated a sailboat day charter company at Shelter Cove marina on Hilton Head. Patty traveled to many places with her husband, traveling to countries such as England, Sweden, Norway, France, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Ukraine (where she helped support an orphan and adoptive Christian parents), Australia, and others. Patty also loved riding her bicycle, hiking and going camping. She loved growing flowers and having a garden.\n \nPatty was an accomplished singer. She sang in choir of Community Bible Church for approximately 20 years performing many solos during that time. \n \nPatty and Floyd became members of Community Bible Church in 1997. She read the entire Bible cover to cover each year for the past 25 years. She had a passion for truth and would challenge anyone that departed from truth as stated in the Bible. Based on the Word of God as presented in the Bible, Patty is in heaven at this moment experiencing the external life as promised in 1 John 5:11-13.\n \nServices will be at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC with greeting and meeting of family at 1:00 and services at 2:00PM on Friday, December 21, 2018. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers Patty's wishes were that each husband give flowers to their wife this weekend and those individuals with no husband involved could make a contribution to "Voice of the Martyrs".
