Nicholas Trenton Luetzow Obituary (2021)

Nicholas Trenton Luetzow, 42, son of Dr. Benjamin Arthur (Deceased) and Dr. Carol (Vesh) Luetzow, of Beaufort, SC, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Beaufort Rehabilitation Center. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00am in the Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors. Nicholas was born on July 11, 1978 in Muncie, Indiana. He is the son of Dr. Benjamin Arthur and Dr. Carol V. Luetzow. Nick graduated from Beaufort High School in 1996 where he participated in Junior Air Force ROTC, JV and Varsity wrestling, and JV and Varsity football. He earned both a bachelor's and a Masters' degree from South Dakota State University. After high school he joined the US Army and after completion of basic training and combat engineer training was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC with both the 37th Engineering Battalion and 82nd Air Borne Division. Before being awarded an honorable discharge in 2008, he was awarded a certificate of participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom, several Army Achievement Medals for meritorious service, a recognition for outstanding recruiting effort, and a Commanding General's Commendation for Operation Nobel Eagle and Enduring Freedom. Surviving are his mother, Carol Luetzow of Beaufort and sister, Carrie Luetzow of Seattle, WA, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
