MGySgt Robert C Wood Obituary (2018) - Beaufort, South Carolina

MGySgt, Robert C. Wood, USMC retired, 89 of Port Royal, SC, widower of the late Marjorie C. Wood, passed away on December 11, 2018 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Graveside services will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery at 2:00pm with full Military honors. Robert was born on November 19, 1929 in Hoschton, GA. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. for 23 years, earning the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. Following his service, he was the owner and operator for a Lawn mower repair shop. Survivors include: one son: John Wood(Nancy); one daughter: Carol Wood Currin (Bob); two sisters: Annie Evans and Addie Bell Wilson; two grandchildren: Bubba (Natalie) Banks and Ernie (Lisa) Banks; five great-grandchildren: Garrett, Madison, Savannah, Reagan, and Piper Banks. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the Disabled American Veterans PO Box 392, Port Royal, SC 29935.
