Mell Furman Obituary (1942 - 2024) - Beaufort, South Carolina

Mell Morris Furman, 81, of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed peacefully on March 18, 2024. Mrs. Furman was born April 11, 1942 to the late Roy Morris and Bertie Hadwin Morris of Kline, South Carolina. Mrs. Furman was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Carey Furman. Mell and Richard made Beaufort their home in 1965, where they raised their surviving daughter, Susan Trogdon (Doug), and surviving son, Carey Furman (Deon). She was “Nana” to four grandchildren, Bradley Trogdon (Jennifer), Haley Furman, Hunter Furman, and Hayden Furman; and was blessed with two great grandsons, Camden and Rhett Trogdon. The family is grateful for the love and support of Pastor Michael Coxwell, his wife Donna, and Meadowbrook Church of Beaufort members who have uplifted Mell and our family. A private service will be held in her honor.
