Masako "Mama Mickey" Autry, 91, wife of Wilfred "Gene" Autry of Beaufort, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.\nMasako was born in Shibuya, Japan in 1931. She met and fell in love with her Army husband Wilfred during the Korean War. During their 71 year marriage, the Autrys lived in Germany, Virginia, Maryland, and Hawaii, and raised 5 children. In 1988 Wilfred retired and they moved to Beaufort where she worked at the Post Exchange at Parris Island for many years, retiring at age 81.\nMasako was predeceased by her parents, two sons, James W. and Raymond G. Autry. She is survived by her loving husband, her son Harold (Gretchen) Autry, daughters Julia A. and Sheila J. Autry and many 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.\nIn lieu of a traditional funeral service, please join the family in celebrating Masako's life at Anderson Funeral Home on September 16th, 11:00-1:00pm.
