Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Bostick Haigh, age 95, of Beaufort passed away on 18 June 2021.\n She was born on May 10, 1926 in Beaufort, SC to the late Maner Lawton Bostick and Mary Butler Bostick. She graduated from Beaufort High School and attended Winthrop College. She was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church where she was a active member of the Lydia McAfee Circle of the United Methodist Women, member of the Horton Bible Sunday School Class, past president and active member of the Gray Blades Senior Group. She also past President and active member of the Ribaut Garden Club, member of the Beaufort County Open Land Trust, friends of the Library, United Daughters of the Confederacy, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and active in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as a Committee member for a number of years. She worked for the Beaufort County School District as Secretary to the Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum of Instruction for 12 years and Civil Service at the U. S. Naval Hospital Medical Clinic on Parris Island until her retirement in 1988.\n\nShe is survived by two sons, David Nelson Haigh, Placitas, New Mexico and U. S. Navy Commander (retired) James Edward (Robin) Haigh, Fernandina Beach, Florida. Six grandchildren William Haigh, Lauryn Haigh, Audrey Lutz, Jimmy Haigh, Leigh Ann Haigh and Alex Haigh; two great grandchildren, Emma and Evan Lutz and one brother Richard B. Bostick of Johnson City, Tennessee.\n Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Charles (Chink) Haigh, two sons, William and Steven Haigh, one granddaughter Catherine Haigh and one brother Maner Lawton Bostick, Jr of McPhersonville, S. C.\n \nVisitation will be held on on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:30 AM until 11: 30 AM at Anderson Funeral Home.
