Martha Ann Inman Crowley, 87, wife of David Meehan Crowley, of Beaufort, SC, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her residence.\nMemorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11AM at the Parish Church of St. Helena with interment in St. Helena Cemetery.\nMrs. Crowley was born on August 28, 1931 in Pasadena, CA. She is the daughter of the late Milton Miller Inman and Angela Emmaline Bartos Inman.\nShe lived at various periods of her life in Southern California; Williamsburg, VA; Englewood, CO; Toronto, Canada and Beaufort, SC.\nWhen her children were young, she was active in both the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She very much liked hiking and tent camping, especially in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She attended the University of Southern California and was a member of the Beaufort chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. For many years she delivered "Meals on Wheels" in both Southern California and Beaufort. She enjoyed travel and accompanied her husband on many of his overseas trips, spending a total of over six months in Australia. On one longer visit there she even "kept house".\nShe held positions as a very competent executive secretary with Bell & Howell and Atlantic Richfield.\nSurviving in addition to her husband, David, are two children with her first husband, James Phillips Karl: Elizabeth Champion (Robert); Catharine Millikan (Gary). Her son, Willard Karl III (Martha) pre-deceased her. There are four step children: Christopher Crowley; Lisa\nWalls (Steven); Deborah Tribble (Dean); and Raymond Crowley. In addition, she had six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.\nIn lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. Helena Preservation Trust, PO Box 1043, Beaufort, SC 29901.
