Marian B. Youmans Obituary (1940 - 2024) - Beaufort, South Carolina

Marian Bennett Youmans, 84, wife of William D. "Bill" Youmans, of Beaufort, SC, passed on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at The Baptist Church of Beaufort. The family will receive friends following the service in the church’s green room. Marian was born on September 8, 1940 in Beaufort. She is the daughter of the late Riley Allen Bennett and Marian Taylor Bennett. Mrs. Youmans graduated from Beaufort High School in 1958 and North Greenville College in 1960 with an associates of arts in business. She worked for many years in banking, as a church secretary, and finally in insurance as a life and health agent until retiring in 2015. She was a long time member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort, as a part of the Choir, her beloved lady’s Sunday school class, Secretary to the Pastor, a nursery teacher, and a Stephen’s minister following the death of her daughter Jennifer, as she felt led to help others in their time of grieving. This is also where she met Bill as a young girl. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on May 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Riley Allen Bennett Jr., sister Barbara Bennett Kindle, and daughter Jennifer Lea Youmans-White. She is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Christopher Scott Youmans (Bobbie); six grandchildren, Lindsey Youmans Andrews (Jarrod), Melissa Youmans Mock (Alan), Tabatha Whitney White, Maren Reese Gowan, Riley Victoria Gowan, William James Youmans; one great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Marian was fiercely loyal, generous, and compassionate. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA).
