Margaret Ellen Fullam, 95, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 10, 2023. \n\nShe was born in Massachusetts on June 26, 1927, to Peter and Jane Fullam. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Queens, New York. She was the first child in a family of five children, John (Jack), James (Jim), Mary Jane (Mickey) and Peter, all of whom predeceased her.\n\nMargaret was known to her loved ones as a caring, wise and adventurous person. She enjoyed teaching Spanish, spending most of her career in Maryland. Her love of being close to the water was apparent while living on Kent Island and again on Hilton Head Island where she moved upon her retirement. Margaret was also a dedicated volunteer who worked with the local literacy program, Volunteers in Medicine and St Francis by the Sea. She was a faithful participant in Adoration at St Francis by the Sea. \n\nA funeral mass will take place at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church (45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926) on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10 AM. Margaret will be laid to rest following the service in the church's columbarium.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory can be made to Daughters of Wisdom, 385 Ocean Avenue, New York 11751.\n\nAnderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, SC is serving the family.
