Lettie Stoops

Mrs. Lettie M. Stoops, age 88 of Beaufort, SC passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Friends of Caroline Hospice, Caroline’s Cottage, in Ridgeland, SC.

A celebration of her life will be held on August 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Anderson Funeral Home.

Lettie was born on March 2, 1938 in Memphis, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Stoops, CWO-4 USMC (retired); her first husband, Dan Westbrook, Major, USMC, and her mother, Lettie M. Clift.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Faye Rogowsky and Lisa Karen Westbrook, a son-in-law Thomas W. Rogowsky, a grandson, James Daniel Rogowsky, and a granddaughter, Megan Patricia Rogowsky.

According to Lettie, her life was “a joyous ride”. She gave freely of her time, talent, and energy to local charities, enjoyed playing bridge, and was a gifted seamstress. She had a superb sense of humor, and was warm and generous with friends and family.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
