Leon "Butch" Adams, 44, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from injuries sustained in a single car automobile accident. Butch was born December 16, 1971 and was a lifelong resident of Beaufort. He worked as a supervisor for water and waste management in Augusta, GA and Beaufort-Jasper. He was also a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Beaufort. Butch was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time fishing with his two sons and father. He enjoyed surfing at Hunting Island Beach and had an incredible passion for the sea. He was known as a kind, loving and caring man. He is survived by his parents, Leon "Butch" Sr. and Betty (Long) Adams, his children; a daughter, Alexis Rose-Ann Adams; two sons, Leon "Butch" E. Adams III and Drake Edward Adams; a sister, Charity Ann Adams; two nephews, Christian Reef Adams and Cameran Lon Annis. He is also survived by a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Horace E. Adams Jr and Nadine M. Adams and maternal grandparents, Claude and Rosa Long. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2:00pm at Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Leon Meadows officiating. Butch will be escorted to his final resting place by Eddie Johnson, Chad Johnson, Leon Hudson, Bryan Green, Michael Long and Jay Kneese.
