Lenhrew Lovette, Jr. Obituary (1944 - 2024)

Lenhrew Edward Lovette, Jr. of Beaufort, SC, died peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at home in the loving care of his three daughters. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1:00pm in Beaufort National Cemetery. Ed was born October 27, 1944 in El Centro, California. He is the son of the late Lieutenant Colonel the Lenhrew Edward Lovette, Sr. and Louise Taylor Lovette. Ed grew up in a military family and was deeply committed to the values of freedom and service to our country. Ed served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). He then went on to dedicatedly work in law-enforcement and had a valiant and extensive career as a CIA Operations and Paramilitary Officer. Ed was also an accomplished author. Always humble, Ed was not one to seek recognition for his significant contributions, what he valued was that the knowledge was passed on. Ed was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved, late wife of 46 years, Barbara Jean Lovette, and was the best father anyone could ever ask for to his three daughters, Melissa, Melinda and Melanie. He was delighted by his ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. From a young age, Ed greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors while hunting, fishing, and camping. Ed was very close to his son in law, Luis Alberto Facal. Ed was a man of unparalleled integrity and a shining example to all who knew him on how to live a good life; always selfless, honest, generous, wise, funny and courageous. A true American hero, Ed will forever be remembered for his unwavering spirit and deep love for his family and his country. Dad was the best husband, father, provider, educator and patriot. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, t2t.org.
