Our beautiful and beloved Leigha Christine (Christy) Painter (soon to be Drawdy) ended her struggle with breast cancer and went home with her Savior on March 14, 2017. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11am in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel followed by interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Born on June 17, 1969, Christy was a remarkably talented, wonderful person who was loved by many. Her smile was infectious, her will strong, her friendship forever. Christy was preceded in death by her sister, Leslie Jones, her maternal grandparents, Roy Lee and Annette Johnson of Amarillo, Texas, and her paternal grandfather, James Grady Jones, also of Amarillo. She is survived by her partner in life and business, Brad Drawdy, with whom she owned and operated Big D's Royal Tees, her sons Cory and Seth Painter, parents James Garry and Linda Jones of Round Rock, Texas, sister Jennifer Mayberry of Austin, Texas, aunts and uncles Bobby Johnson of Amarillo, Jay Johnson of Albuquerque, Lee Ann Bowling of Jarrell, Texas, Dirinda Sharp of Georgetown, Texas, paternal grandmother Dorothy Nulty of Winnsboro, Texas, Fran and "Snap" Zimmerman, mother and stepfather of Brad Drawdy, as well as his father, Bruce Drawdy of Tampa, Fla. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Beaufort Memorial Hospital and the time and generosity of many friends.\n\n In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to The Christy Painter Memorial Fund, at any SunTrust bank location.
