Lawrence Nester Nahrgang, Sr. Obituary (1935

Lawrence (Larry) Nester Nahrgang, 87, of Dataw Island, SC, formerly of Birmingham, MI, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and children on April 2, 2022. Larry was born and raised in Detroit, MI. He was the only son of Ralph Schirmer and Gertrude Nester Nahrgang. He attended Gesu Catholic School and University of Detroit high school in Detroit, and graduated from the University of Detroit. For many years he was the co-owner of CANA Steels, a special metals firm in Birmingham, MI. He retired in 2002 and moved to the warmer climate of Dataw Island, SC. He is survived by his wife of 61years, Margaret Tefend, a daughter, Anne (Mark) Nelson of Lee, NH; three sons, Lawrence Nahrgang Jr, of Ann Arbor, MI, Thomas Nahrgang of Dataw Island, SC, and Jonathan (Stephanie) Nahrgang of Ross, CA; six grandchildren, Emily (Colm), Sophie (James), Olivia (Josiah), and Hannah Nelson, Greta and Lila Nahrgang; and one great grandchild, Yuhan Zhang.
