Lamont Joseph Hopey, 72 of Beaufort, SC, husband of Delores T. Hopey passed away at his family residence on September 18, 2018.\n\nFamily will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Anderson Funeral Home. \nFuneral Mass will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church with burial following at Beaufort National Cemetery.\n\nMr. Hopey was born on May 7, 1946 in Fell Township, PA to the late Peter and Bertha (Shandor) Hopey. He married Delores Tomazic on September 27, 1969.\n\nSurvivors include: his wife: Delores T. Hopey; one daughter: Holly Ann (Jason) Urban of Kintersville, PA; one sister: Shirley Bilko, of Richmondale, PA; one brother-in-law: Jim (Joanne) Tomazic of Bracey, VA; one niece; and four nephews.\n\nLamont served his country proudly with four years in the United States Marine Corps. Followed by 17 years in the United States Air Force Reserves. He would then, continue his service by serving 25 years with the Pennsylvania State Police, where he retired a Lieutenant. He was a member of the International Police Association, the 1st Marine Air Wing Association, and a board member of Cottage Farm for many years. Mr. Hopey loved to travel, was a computer expert, and a gifted carpenter. Though very accomplished in his life, he dearly cherished his family, friends, community, and country.
