Kimberly Renee Moya, 51, wife of John Eric Moya of Beaufort, SC, died Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 19 at 10:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Lady's Island. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, followed by interment in Beaufort National Cemetery.\nKimberly was born in Nashville, TN to Myrna and Michael Tate on November 17, 1970. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Mimi. She's well known for her kindness and empathy. She made an imprint on every person she met.\nAs a young girl, Kimberly was a natural athlete. She was a strong swimmer, setting several Nashville city records. She played basketball at Father Ryan High School in Nashville. She loved animals, gardening, and reading a good book. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loving her grandchildren.\nKimberly was preceded in death by grandparents Dorothy and Glenn Williams and grandmother Kate Tate. In addition to her husband John and her parents, Kimberly is survived by two sons, Jesse Moya and Jeremy Moya, a daughter, Catherine Pittman; four brothers Mike, Chris, Tim, and Jeremey; a sister, Molly; four grandchildren, Emma, River, Rory, and Piper; and many nieces and nephews.\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
