John D Scroggins, Sr. Obituary (1939

Major John D. Scroggins, Sr, 81, USMC, Retired, died Friday, March 19, 2021 at his residence in Port Royal, SC. Mr. Scroggins was born on October 29, 1939 in Elba, Ala. He is the son of the late Richard Alvin Scroggins and Christine Phillips Scroggins. Major Scroggins was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Surviving are two sons, John D. Scroggins, Jr. and William Alvin Scroggins; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 12 Beaufort, PO Box 392, Port Royal, SC 29935. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 2-4pm at Anderson Funeral Home.
