Jake Riley Dukes, Sr., 87 of Beaufort, SC passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home in Beaufort.\nVisitation for Jake will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Anderson Funeral Home from 11 AM to 12:30 PM with Graveside Services following at the Beaufort National Cemetery at 1 PM with military honors.\nJake was born on August 14, 1934 in Orangeburg, SC to the late James Asbury and Bertha Riley Dukes. He grew up in a house full of boys. He always shared his fond memories of spending his childhood days at his Gran's house reading. He married Linda Rosella Scoggins in 1956, who passed away in April of 2020. They raised 4 children, and were blessed with grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina to obtain his degree as a Physician's Assistant. He honorably served his country for 31 years, including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Dept of the Navy, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He retired from Texas Tech as a Physician Assistant in 2004. He loved playing golf with Linda in his younger days and he was a master at Texas Hold 'Em. They always looked forward to traveling to visit with their family.\nSurvivors include: his sons: Jake Dukes, Jr. Mark Dukes; daughters: Sandy Davis (Ronnie), Melissa (Bryan) Dukes; grandchildren: Amanda Guess (Payton), Justin Valis, Casey Davis (Kai), Morgan Dukes, Haley Boisclair (Tony); great grandchildren: Collier, Adalyn, Aven, Cambry, Landon, Stryker, Landon, Logan, Benjamin, Chandler, Conner, Riley Grace, Delilah, and Cohen; and brother: Don Dukes (Trudy).\nHe is preceded in death by: his parents; brothers Terry, Bobby, and Jimmy Dukes, granddaughter Samantha Valis, his wife Linda Dukes, sister-in-law Joyce Dukes, son-in-law Randy Barnes and daughter-in-law Tina Dukes.\nIn lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice.
