Jacqueline T. McConnell, 70, of Ridgeland, SC, died Saturday, September 30, 2023 in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA.\n\nThe family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 20233 at 10:00am at Anderson Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will follow on Monday, at 11:00am in Forest Lawn Cemetery.\n\nMs. McConnell was born on August 6, 1953 in Flatwoods, KY. She is the daughter of the late Jack Short and Betty Lou Short.\n\nSurviving are one daughter, Nicole McConnell; four sons, Sylvan T. Jobe; Billy J. McConnell; Alex McConnell and Brinsley Ellis; one brother, Jack Short, Jr. and one sister, Carolyn Gartin; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.\n\nJacqueline raised her first three kids Sylvan, Nicole, and Billy along with Jerry McConnell. She came down to Hilton Head SC and raised her children Alex McConnell and Brinsley Ellis along with Brinsley Andrew Ellis. \n\nJacqueline spent 30 plus years as an LPN serving nursing homes across Beaufort and Jasper County SC. \n\nJacqueline loved to watch tv, drink coffee, sing, and play scrabble. Jacqueline was a strong willed and loving mother. Jacqueline always greeted everyone with a smile on her face. \n\n “Feed not your loneliness on empty days, \n But fill each working hour in useful ways,\n Reach out your hand \n In comfort and in cheer \n And I in turn will comfort you \n And hold you near \n And never, never be afraid to die, \n For I am waiting for you in the sky! \n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Alex McConnell.
