Jackie MacKay

Jacqueline (Jackie) A. MacKay passed away on January 3, 2014 following surgery complications at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She was born in Washington, DC on April 13, 1945. She lived in Alexandria, VA, graduated from Mt.Vernon High School and was involved in young political organizations, including campaign work. She married Ken MacKay in 1974 and spent the next 24 years raising her family, moving and working in Chicago, Dallas and Charlotte, NC. She was the Director of Human Resources at Budget Rent A Car of Charlotte, Hickory and Asheville until she and her husband retired to Brays Island in Sheldon, SC in 1998. In the past three years she has been involved with the Classic Car & Truck Club of Beaufort. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate Ken MacKay, her two sons, William J. Reardon of Oviedo, FL, James W. Reardon of Denver, NC, and her step-daughter Valerie A. Leopoldo of Orangeburg, NY. She had six grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Katie, Christopher James, Jessica, Christopher and one great grandchild, Izack. She is also survived by her older siblings, James Clarke, Marie Agnes Tassa and Ann Marie Andrews. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed. There is a Memorial Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Ladys Island on Tuesday January 7th at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in St Peter's Memorial Garden.
