Hugh "Nickie" F. Folk Obituary (1941

Hugh F. "Nickie" Folk, 81, husband of Eva "Connie" Barker Folk, of Beaufort, SC, died Sunday, March 20, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Folk was born on January 28, 1941. He is the son of the late Hugh F. Folk and Virginia Hightower Folk. He grew up in Fairfax, Allendale County, and graduated from Clemson University, where he was a founding member of the Kappa Delta Chi fraternity. Following college, he served two years active duty in the US Army as an officer. He spent most of his professional career as a sales engineer in the glass container industry. In retirement, Mr. Folk was active with the Kiwanis of Beaufort, SC, and the Pigeon Point neighborhood association. During this time one of his proudest accomplishments was his involvement with revitalization of the beautiful and popular Pigeon Point Park. Surviving in addition to his wife Connie of 59 years, are two sons, John (Carolyn) Folk of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Richard (Frankie) Folk of Granville, Ohio; one sister, Louise Griffin of Kernersville, North Carolina; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The Hydrocephalus Association. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. A celebration of life will be held at Carteret Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 am.
