Henry (Hank) Ard, Jr Obituary (1960 - 2022)

Henry (Hank) Guster Ard, Jr., 61, of Beaufort, S.C. died on January 14, 2022, after an extended illness. Hank was born in Beaufort on August 24, 1960, and was the son of Henry, Sr. and Maria N. Ard. He graduated from both Beaufort High School and the University of South Carolina. Hank served in both the Navy and the Marine Corps. His civilian careers included installing and repairing telephones and repairing furniture in both hospitals and senior living facilities. He was a musician who played with the Ocean Hiway Band. He enjoyed working on model railroad displays, studying aircraft, repairing shoes, drawing, and wood carving. His ability to make those around him laugh and smile will forever be remembered. His selflessness and God-given leadership was most admired. Hank will always be in our hearts. Hank is survived by his daughter Sian Ard and his girlfriend, April Foster and her daughter, Katey Foster. He is also survived by his extended family consisting of Roy Fyfe, Tara Ard, Marshall Wilson, and Ellen Turner. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Rhuematology department at MUSC.
