Harold E Bodkins, Sr. Obituary (1935

GYSGT Harold E. Bodkins, Sr., USMC, Retired, 80, husband of Peggy Heape Bodkins, of Beaufort, SC passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2 pm at Beaufort Church of God with interment in Beaufort Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Harold was born on March 19, 1935 in Valley Head, West Virginia to the late Edward Bodkins and Attie White Bodkins. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a furniture sales man for Future Furniture. Surviving in addition to his wife, Peggy, is four daughters, Edith Blocker (Lonnie), Iris Tracy (Sam), Alice Phillips (Grady), and Sharon Farris (Henry); two step sons, David Gordon and Willard Gordon; one brother, Ronald Joe Bodkins (Joellen); three sisters, Mary Smith (Raymond), Sharon Bodkins (Karl), and Hallie Fedowich; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Eugenia Bodkins (Jean) and one son, Harold Edward (Eddie) Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Spina Bifida Association, 1600 Wilson Blvd, Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22209 or Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd 2nd Fl, Princeton, NJ 08540
