Ginger Diane Smith Obituary (1966 - 2024)

Ginger Diane Smith, 57, loving wife, mother and sister was sadly taken from us on Monday, September 30, 2024, at her residence. Ginger was born in Jacksonville, Fla. on December 28, 1966. She is the daughter of the late Thomas P. Cox, Jr. and Mary Katherine McQueen Cox . She was the youngest of 3 daughters. Ginger volunteered as a Candy Striper during her junior high and high school years at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She graduated from Battery Creek High School . After graduating she continued her education at TCL studying Automotive Mechanics. She worked as a Preschool Teacher and Teachers Assistant in the Beaufort County School District. Ginger loved the outdoors. Her hobbies included boating, hunting and fishing. She enjoyed sewing, painting, cooking and gardening. She was an expert at Dr. Mario and loved playing board games with her family. She was especially proud of her 3 children, Ashley a gifted Artist, Jesse a Paramedic/Firefighter and Tyler an EMT/Firefighter. She was a wonderful person that was taken from us too soon who loved her family and will be sorely missed by all who new her. Surviving in addition to her husband, Mike Smith is one daughter, Ashley Volpe, two sons, Jesse Volpe and Tyler Smith, two sisters, Sandra Cash and Robin Womack, 2 nieces and 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
