On Saturday, November 27, 2021, George Wine, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 71.\nGeorge was born on February 14, 1950 in Oakland, Maryland. He served over 22 years in the US Army (retiring in September of 1990 from Ft. Jackson) and most recently retired in 2016 from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Department. He loved being a police officer and he never met a stranger that he wouldn't strike up a conversation with.\nOn March 4, 1971 he married his wife of 50 years, Monika Wine in Berlin, Germany. They raised two daughters, Denise and Tonya. Throughout his military career, they spent almost 15 years in different locations in Germany.\nHe was a hardworking man that was funny, loving and he made sure his family was well taken care of. He enjoyed NASCAR races, spending time with his grandson, James and telling "dad" jokes.\nGeorge was preceded in death by his father, Norman; mother, Sara; brother, Jerry, and daughter, Denise.\nHe is survived by his wife Monika; daughter, Tonya Stamey; sister, Kitty Certo and several cousins, nieces and nephews. We will all miss him dearly.\nMilitary Funeral Honors date and location to be determined.
