Master Sergeant Frank Gale, Jr. USMC, Retired, passed peacefully on June 19, 2021 at the age of 98. \nHe was born in Miners Mills, Pa. He joined the USMC at the age of 17, and served honorably for 22 years. He saw action in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Upon retirement, he returned to Southeast Asia as a civilian contractor for the Raytheon Corporation, serving in Cambodia, Thailand, and finally again in Vietnam. He was awarded the Dept. of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Medal for his assistance to American Forces during the 1965 Montagnard uprising. Upon retiring for a 2nd time, he lived in Savannah Ga. and finally settled in Beaufort, SC. \nHe is survived by his daughter Frances Gallagher of Dumfries, VA.\nVisitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 9:30am at Anderson Funeral Home, A graveside funeral service will follow at 11:00am in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.
