She was a member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort, where she was a member of the Faithful Friends Sunday School class. She was a volunteer in many organizations and won Volunteer of the Year one year! She loved attending the Christian Women's Club luncheons and participated in their Fashion Shows quite a few times, where she was a natural since she already had experience with modeling as a Senior Fashion model for Belks Dept store - where she made Earl participate once also!\nShe was always ready to Go... and she loved to travel. Her favorite trip when she was younger - was to see the Holy Land with her mom and church group. She always looked forward to family trips and loved the yearly trip to the Florida Keys!\nShe loved her children and grandchildren and prayed for them every day. She loved to cook for her family and friends and she liked to experiment with new recipes - but most of the family usually asked for their favorites - fried chicken, butter beans, creamy corn, biscuits or NC corn bread and sweet tea. \nBesides cooking, she loved the flowers in her yard, bird watching (she always had binoculars and a bird book nearby), and encouraging her children and grandchildren in their education - to never stop learning. She even took some classes at USC-B when she was in her 60's!\nShopping and reading were a few more of her favorite things to do. But most of all she loved Jesus, her Bible and her church.\nWe love you and miss you - but we are so thankful that you are with Pop/Grandpa, your mom and dad, Sandy, Santee and all of your other loved ones that were waiting for you.\nFrom Debbie: Growing up with Frances Rabon as my mentor, role model, religious teacher, back scratcher, best friend and MOTHER was truly a privilege and honor. She always said she watched over me and gently guided my path without telling me what I couldn't do because she was so smart in that way. She was, and still is, the core of our family, and I will miss her more than any writing could express. My mom was the epitome of a Southern Lady with grace, charm and style. She is in heaven talking to her Mama, rejoicing the ability to walk again and love on the only MAN she genuinely loves. So much to say... I love you Ma!\n \nThe family of Frances wish to extend our sincere Thank You to family and friends for the prayers, meals and love that has been given and shown to us at this time! \nWe love you!!
