Frances Virginia Fitts DeLoach Obituary (1927

Frances Virginia Fitts DeLoach, 91 of Beaufort, SC and widow of the late Gene E. DeLoach, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Sprenger Healthcare in Port Royal. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 4-6 PM at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at The Baptist Church of Beaufort on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11 AM with burial following at The Baptist Church of Beaufort Churchyard. Frances was born on October 8, 1927 in Luray, SC, the daughter of Joseph Charles and Henri (Faust) Fitts. She married Gene E. DeLoach in 1957 and made her home in Beaufort, SC. She graduated from Estill High School, earning a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Winthrop College and a Masters Degree in Mathematics from USC- Columbia. She was a teacher in Springfield, Bishopville, Charleston and Beaufort for many years before retiring and joining Gene as Co-Owner of DeLoach ACE Hardware and Garden City Supplies in Beaufort, SC. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort. She is survived by two daughters: Kathy D. McKoy (Tony) of Beaufort, and Marsha D. Peets (Erin) of Beaufort; a sister, Deloris F. Jenkins, Barnwell, SC; one brother in law, Robert L. DeLoach, Beaufort, SC; four grandchildren: Matthew G. Peets, Clemson, SC; Michael L. Peets (Sarah), Houston, TX; Chelsea K. McKoy, Columbia, SC; and Robert Gene McKoy, Conway, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly Grace and Oliver Peets, Houston, TX; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She had three first cousins who were like brothers who predeceased her: Corrin (Mary Eleanor), Det (Evelyn), and Grover (Macy) Bowers all of Estill, SC.
