Frances Baumgardner

Frances (Fran) Baumgardner, 96, originally of Beaufort, S.C., passed away on June 3, 2025 at Hospice of South Georgia in Valdosta, Ga.

Fran was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 27, 1928.

Daughter of the late Gladys and Harry Peeples.

She is predeceased by her husband Frank H. Baumgardner, Sr., sister Dorothy Shelton, brothers Jimmy Peeples and Harry Peeples.

Fran retired in 1990 from the United Telephone Company in Beaufort, S.C. and was known by her family and friends as the sweet lady with a great sense of humor with her sassy ways. She always kept her quick-wit even when the times were tough. Fran appreciated the beach and spent many weeks camping on the beaches of Beaufort with her family. Fishing, oh how she loved to go fishing with the family and yes, she caught a few big ones also. She was a go-getter, very active and enjoyed knitting, gardening and dancing. She loved hosting events for her friends and neighbors at the Cottages of Beaufort.

Fran leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply: her four children: Richard Baumgardner (with wife Carol), David Baumgardner (with wife Jody), Patti Baumgardner and Frank Baumgardner, Jr. (with wife Julie); Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Let's not forget her furry friend: Poppy.

Though her smile (laughter)is gone forever and her hands we cannot touch, we will always have sweet memories of the one we loved so much.
