Emory Alisher Magbee, Jr., 91, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022.\nMr. Magbee was born in Newberry, SC on June 20, 1931, to Nora Turner Magbee and Emory Alisher Magbee, Sr. Although he was an only child, he was a loving and devoted son to his parents. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Newberry College, his Master's Degree in Education from The University of South Carolina, and served in the US Army. In the summer of 1955, he met his "beloved" Eloise Carter while they were both counselors at Burnt Gin Summer Camp for disabled children. They were wed on June 30, 1962, and recently celebrated with a 60th anniversary dinner.\nEmory was a teacher in numerous Beaufort County schools and also spent many years as a principal. He cherished every one of his students and his education legacy still remains. After retiring, he enjoyed painting, being outside, relaxing at his lake house and taking long walks with his family.\nSurvivors include his wife, two sons; his oldest son, Jarret, and his wife Melissa, have seven of his "beloved" grandchildren: Turner (Arianna), Gigi, Oakley, Talmadge, Hammond, Beckham and Macie Ruth; his second son, David, and his wife Cindy, have three of his "beloved" grandchildren: Cole (Mercedes), Amber (Joey) and Shana; and six great-grandchildren with three more on the way.\nMr. Magbee was a devout Christian and read his Bible every day until the day he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.\nThe family will welcome visitors on Friday, September 2, 2022 to Anderson Funeral Home from 11:30-1:00 p.m. A graveside service with United States Military Honors will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.\nArrangements are being respectfully handled by Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Beaufort, South Carolina.
