Darnell Keller Obituary (1926

Darnell Keller, 94 of Fripp Island, SC, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at her residence on Fripp. A memorial service for Darnell will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, May 8 at the Fripp Island Chapel. Darnell was born on August 21, 1926 in LaGrange, GA, the daughter of the late A. L. and Ethel (Swann) Phillips. She worked for the Whirlpool Corporation before retiring and moving to Fripp Island where she quickly became active in many activities at Fripp including playing bridge, golf, and Mah Jong. She was an active member of Friends of Music and a book club, and a member of Sea Island Presbyterian Church. Survivors include daughter: Adecia (Rodney) Walker; grandchildren: Leigh (Kyle) Eastman, Chip (Meaghan) Walker, Jane (Chris) Woods, J.W. Gomez; great-grandchildren; Trey Walker, Bryant Walker, Marlowe Walker, Savannah Woods; son-in-law John Gomez. She was predeceased by husband, Patrick Leon Keller; daughter Debbie Gomez; brothers Lionel and Reginald Phillips; and sister Betty Baty. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made out to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th St, Port Royal, SC 29935 or Fripp Island Community Centre, 205 Tarpon Blvd, Fripp Island SC 29920.
