Bret Whiteside

Bret Whiteside, 61 of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at his residence.

A Celebration of Bret's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home.

Bret attended and graduated from Brandon High School in 1983, and attended Hines Jr. College afterwards. Following his graduation, he worked for AAR airplane company in Texas.

He moved through various states like New Hampshire, Texas, and North Carolina, and then settled in Beaufort in 2000.

Bret touched so many lives in many different ways. He worked hard to provide safety through his positions at Stokes Honda and Stokes Toyota for 25 years. His customers were his priority and his devotion to this community. He always provided exceptional service and professionalism to his customers. He took great pride in the company and his image. Everyone came to find him dependable and trustworthy with their vehicles. Everyone could count on Bret.

His passions included bowling, NASCAR, and football.

He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Pat; his children, Jinell Henderson, Alex Whiteside, and Heidi Whiteside; his lovely mother, Donna; his siblings, Brad Whiteside, Jaime Whiteside, Lisa, and Danielle; and 9 grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored and spoke highly of.

To the numerous friends that Bret has made over the years, thank you so much for all of your love, support, and kind words.

Bret was a husband, a son, a dad, a brother, a grandpa, and a friend.

Let's all celebrate his time here. Even though it was short, he made his own impact on each of us.
