Billy Wayne Stewart

Billy Wayne Stewart, 74, widower of Cindy V. Stewart, of Beaufort, SC, died Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his residence.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00pm in Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors.

Billy was born on September 19, 1950 in Charlotte, NC. He is the son of the late Walter Stewart and Brite Stafford Stewart.

Billy was combat solider in the US Army having served from August 1968 to February 1970 in Vietnam. He received many medals of honor; including two bronze stars. Billy was a proud Vietnam Veteran. The time served made Billy the man he was until the day he passed. Strong and courageous.

Billy moved to Beaufort ,SC after serving his time in the Army and shortly after met the love of his life,Cindy. Our parents were the best of friends with a love like no other . They built a wonderful life together raising my brother and I. We had great parents that devoted their lives to us and our well being. They have six wonderful grandchildren that they were so very proud of! Billy was a hard working man with a heart of gold . He loved his hotrods and had several of his own, including his 1940 Plymouth that was his favorite ! Life will never be the same without our parents / grandma and grandad . Knowing they are together again does bring joy to our hearts ! We will strive to keep your memory alive dad ! Forever in our hearts.

Surviving are one daughter, Brite Nettles and one son, Michael Stewart; two sisters, Ruby Harris and Martha Sizemore; six grandchildren; Sam Stewart, Allie Nettles,Hopi Stewart,Mason Stewart,Ethan Nettles and Eli Nettles.
