Betty Joan Sanders

Betty J. Sanders, 77, of Grays Hill, SC, widow of Royce M. Sanders, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 12:30pm at Grays Hill Baptist Church with interment in Beaufort National Cemetery. Mrs. Sanders was born on March 9, 1935 in Barnwell County, SC. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Florence Padgett Holloway; brothers, Ben Padgett and Jimmie Barfield. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Grays Hill Baptist Church, The Love and Faith Sunday School Class and Women's on Missions. She was retired security for Hilton Head Plantation. Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie S. Lott; two sons, Timothy and David Smith; two granddaughters and four grandsons; two great granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Grays Hill Baptist Church, 2749 Trask Parkway, Beaufort, SC 29906.
