Ava Nell Griffis Ott Obituary (2021)

Ava Nell Griffis Ott left this world peacefully on 6 Oct. 2021 surrounded by friends and family. Ava Nell was born in Homerville, Georgia to the late Hillary Horace Griffis and Noley Pittman Griffis. She was a loving Mother and homemaker who loved to dig in the dirt in her yard while gardening. Canning her fruits and vegetables and sitting on the porch watching the birds were a few of her favorite past times. She is survived by her son David W. (Kitty) Ott, her daughters, Wanda Nierode, Debbie (Mike) Newton, Gail (Tony) Benton and Patty (Tommy) Linn, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Ott Jr., her son John Darrel Ott, her granddaughter Ashley Years, Ashley's husband Chris Years and her granddaughter Luna Years. We know Mom will be bouncing off clouds, sliding down rainbows and catching stars. You are forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 5-7 pm. at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 2pm in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
