Asher Brooks Obituary (2018)

On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, Asher Brooks, loving husband and father of two children, passed away surrounded by family at the age of 69. Asher was born on April 24, 1949 on Parris Island, SC to Glen D. and Lillian H. Brooks. He learned his skill of working on motor vehicles by working at his dads gas station, and later opened his own successful foreign auto repair shop, Sea Island Auto Service, which he was co-owner with William "Bill" Moore. On December 10, 2005, he married Susan Brage and they are were happily married for 13 years and enjoyed their four legged children. Asher had a passion for telling jokes to make people laugh and servicing his clients through his auto repair shop for over 30 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing in Beaufort's local waters and could be found watching the action at the local boat landings and marina's. He was also an avid music lover and a played guitar in several bands during his younger years. He was known for his love of people, awesome personality, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Asher was preceded in death by his father, Glen, and his mother, Lillian. He is survived by his wife Susan, his two children, Bryan Brooks (Teri) of Beaufort, SC and Lindsay Chandler (Stephen) of Middleburg, FL, his brother Steven Brooks (Nancy) of Athens, GA,, and five grandchildren, Johnaithan D. Morgan, Ireland Greyson Lowenthal, Rhys Brooks, Abigail Chandler, and Sophia Chandler.
